Starcraft Division: Skill Ladder
Welcome to the Starcraft Division: Skill Ladder.
This ladder keeps a tally on the skill level of all current Starcraft Division members and it is also open to Ex-C4E Members and friends of the C4E Starcraft Division who choose to sign-up for the ladder. Score is kept through wins against other members and teams of 2, 3 and 4.
To sign-up for the Skill Ladder, either leave a message on the C4E Starcraft Message Board or Email Viper at [email protected] with the subject heading "Skill Ladder Sign-Up".
Note: This ladder will be updated to script (hopefully) within the next fortnight or so. Please be patient as the Site Administrator is not skilled with script code.
Rules of Ladder
Matches: Players/Teams play single games against one another with either Starcraft or Brood War. Only Blizzard Maps or Blizzard Web Maps can be used for matches (Ladder maps are allowed) and the match speed must be set at Fastest (except matches based on Ladder maps; they must be the default of Fast).
Consecutive Matches: Players/Teams cannot play more than 3 official matches against a particular player/team in one day. Any more than 3 games and they will not be validated on the ladder.
Elite Solo Players Ladder: Solo Players who get 15 consecutive stars or more without a single loss, who's wins outnumber their losses by more than 20 or are awarded a Gold Trophy will be moved to the Elite Solo Players Ladder. However, any Elite Solo Player who's losses outnumber their wins by more than 15 at anytime will be removed from the Elite Solo Players Ladder and placed back on the Solo Players Ladder.
Skill Ratings: All players on the Skill Ladders are rated from 1 to 10 (1 being lowest rating and 10 being highest rating). Right now, the ratings are given based solely on the site administrators' opinion of a particular player's skill level - this is to be automated when the upgrade occurs so other players can vote on what level they think a player is at; this voting system will then give players an average skill rating based on the votes received.
Stars: Stars and Half-Stars are earned successive wins - as soon as a player with successive wins loses a match, they lose their stars. Stars are given out only to Solo Players and Half-Stars are given out to Elite Players only.
Trophies: Trophies are earned for exception displays of skill and/or resilience. There are three trophies: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Some of the things that may earn a solo player or team a trophy are (but not limited to):
Defeating your opponent or opponents within a very short period of time.
Defeating an opponent who is more than 10 wins above you on the ladder (Solo Players only).
Defeating an opponent who is more than 50 wins above you on the ladder (Elite Players only).
Making a comeback from a difficult standpoint and still defeating your opponent or opponents.
Earning 20 or more stars without a loss (applies to Solo and Elite Players only).
Defeating your opposing team with only one surviving person on your team when they out number your team more than 2 to 1. (can apply to Solo and Elite Players who take on a team).
Submitting Results: The losing side of the match must Email Viper at [email protected] with the subject title "Skill Ladder: Match Results" the details of the match (Date of Match, Match Type, Players/Teams Involved and Map Used).
Invalid Matches: If any of the following occurs when/after a match is held, it will not be validated by the Skill Ladder:
Playing more than 3 official matches against a particular player/team in one day. Every game after the 3rd will not be validated on the ladder.
If a Non-Blizzard map is used or the correct speed is not used, the match will not be validated.
Only players listed on the Skill Ladder can participate in matches; if a Unlisted C4E Member, Boot Camper Recruit or Unlisted Non-C4E Member participates in the match, the match will not be validated.
If a player is disconnected or dropped in a Solo Players or Elite Players match, then the match is considered a draw and does not need to be reported. However if a player is disconnected or dropped in a Team of Two/Three/Four match, then the side at a disadvantage has the option of calling a draw or continuing if it has been an even game or - in the case of a one sided game - they have the option of forfeiting or continuing; no draw can be declared.
Ladder Updates: The skill ladder is updated every 3 days - please be patient as the ladder is being upgraded to script within a fortnight or so.
Ladder Name Color Codes: C4E Starcraft Division players are colored white, Ex-C4E players are colored red and Non-C4E players are colored blue.
Disputes: All disputes concerning matches must be handled by the participates - the site administrator will take no part in any such disputes.
